Liberty Park is an Algiers park located between Boulevard Krim Belkacem and Didouche Mourad Street. It was designed in 1915 by Charles de Galland.

In 2018, Liberty Park was designated to become a World Peace Garden by World Peace Gardens.

History

The former Galland Park was inaugurated in 1915 by Charles de Galland, mayor of Algiers from 1910 to 1919 and principal of the Ben Aknoun High School, who donated this magnificent land to the city. The park has just been superbly restored and is therefore even more beautiful since 2018. Its terraced gardens, interrupted by stairs, aviaries, and water features, made it one of the most popular walking spots for Algiers residents and one of the city’s most elegant parks.
