The Prague Garden is an Algiers garden located in Bab El Oued, designed in 1833 by Commander Marengo.

History

The garden was laid out by military prisoners of French Colonel Marengo. It was home to the tomb of Lella Aïcha, granddaughter of a marabout and daughter of Doctor Sidi Abd-er-Rhaman.

In 2017, the garden was closed for renovation works, and the operation was entrusted to the Green Spaces Development Establishment in Algiers (EDEVAL).

On , the Minister of Interior and Local Authorities, Noureddine Bedoui, and the Governor of Algiers, Abdelkader Zoukh, inaugurated the garden after the rehabilitation works were completed.

A bust of the famous chaâbi singer Amar Ezzahi was installed in the garden. This statue is a tribute to the singer who used to spend a lot of time in this iconic place in Bab El Oued.
