Dar Mustapha Pacha is located in the lower Casbah, in the Souk-el-Djemâa quarter, bordering Rue des Frères Mecheri. This palace is an exceptional architectural treasure. It was built in 1798 for Dey Mustapha Pacha, then became the residence of General Trobriant. In 1863, it was converted into a national library until 1948, after which it became the headquarters of several organizations upon independence. Classified on March 30, 1887, it has undergone restoration and will soon become the future Museum of Miniature, Illumination, and Calligraphy.
