Djennane Raïs Hamidou is a villa in the Fahs built in the 18th century during the Ottoman era, the personal residence of the legendary leader of the maritime forces of the Ottoman era: Raïs Hamidou. In 1830, it was the site of the signing of the surrender treaty between Dey Hussein and the French General De Bourmont. The cultural property covers an area of 10,000 m², consisting of a two-story villa in Arab-Moorish style surrounded by a garden of 1,500 m². This monument, located in the municipality of El Biar, was classified as a national heritage site in 2012. The restoration works of the monument were completed in 2016. The Djennane also houses an annex of the Birtraria Hospital specializing in internal medicine.
